Stitch, the Apple Company Store is so incredibly cool! I bought a ton of stuff, including two shirts that said:
1. Cupertino, 839 miles and 180 degrees from Redmond
2. I visited the Mothership
Naturally I had to buy the coffee mug with the simple, elegant Apple logo! It was fantastic. We had lunch at BJs, which is right there in Apple's parking lot. Stitch, you can actually feel the innovation taking place!

McFan I hope that you bent down and kissed the ground when you went to the Mothership. Do they have tours or anything like that? Now that Jobs is on the Apple board, maybe they could add to the Apple headquarters with an Apple themed ammusement park. Put those Disney immagineers to work. They could duplicate the effect at the haunted house where a ghost looks like he is sitting next to you in the car you are in. Only this time it would be the ghost of Steve Jobs. Maybe a little target practice by blasting images of Gates or the Windows logo. It would be grand.
By the way. Do you have a dedicated room in your home for all of the Apple memorabilia? You must have quite a stash by now. Your collection of iPods alone would be impressive. Oh the dedication.
I am thinking of renovating our front room to be a shrine for Apple. Now, the reason our iPods aren't on display is that, except for one iPod, they are all in use at various times! The one which is outside the loop is Robin's 1st gen iPod mini, which we are going to put to use in an iPod wake-up clock for our bedroom. I can't buy all this stuff at once, you know!
And you know as well as I do that the last thing Steve Jobs would do is create a "circus like atmosphere" at Apple HQ! :)
We actually asked about tours, and we were told there isn't much to see except for employees hard at work! Le actually made the blasphemous statement that many of the Apple employees were just like employees at any company - the gall!!
Yes, Lo, I hate to be the one who breaks it to you, but even though I am sure that Apple has a much higher than normal % of employees who are very excited about what they do, I am equally sure that the majority just come in to work everyday like the rest of us working blokes!

Blasphemy, I say! Your words do dishonor to the Apple shrine I have sworn my soul to!
