Tips from Steve Jobs
There's a great article that puts together some quotes from Steve Jobs, and put a little more detail into them. It's a pretty good synopsis! I notice that one or two sentences came from Jobs graduation speech. Check it out:
Very nice quotes from Jobs. Good stuff. My only comment would be regarding the 'we don't grow the food we eat' and 'we buy clothes that someone else makes' thing - there's no denying the importance of innovation, but it's not a 'bad' thing necessarily to utilize things that others produce. I say 'utilize' and not 'steal' - two different things. Sure, many math concepts were derived from other parts of the world, but utilizing those concepts led to America sending a man to the moon. Yes, our language has its heritage in Europe, but imagine the great books and poetry that came through the American use of the English language. Of course, there's a fine line between utilization and creative stagnation.
