Gentlemen, Did you hear that Blockbuster has said they would carry Blue Ray DVD titles exclusively in most of its stores? The reasoning was that in the 200 or so stores they were using as an experiment, customers chose the Blue Ray over HD-DVD discs 70% of the time! I tend to think that this could indicate Blue Ray's eventual victory in the High Def DVD wars. What do you think?

I think that's definitely a big play for Blue-Ray, which I imagine will help lead to its victory over HD-DVD. I have been a fan of Blue-Ray since I learned that the capacity is higher than that of HD-DVD. Seems silly to me that the companies would try to come out with a lesser capacity disk in this 'war' of formats.

I'm actually rooting for Blue Ray! I mean, these days, storage is everything. The more I have, the better off I am. Why cripple the next High Def DVD standard with less space? Tell me?
I would say that HD-DVD hasn't gotten off the ground. Microsoft was hoping to beat Sony to the punch with HD-DVD, then corner the market before Blu-Ray got out there in numbers. Pulling the VHS vs Beta deal. But this time it didn't work. Blu-Ray will be king because, as you said, it is higher quality and people were willing to wait.
