Apparently Apple shares have gone up big time in anticipation of the iPhone going on sale in China. Boy, you talk about a huge and emerging market. If Apple gets going in China, and if the Chinese realize how good Macs are, then Apple would be poised for even MORE growth!

Some of this jump is probably due to people buying back into Apple after the stock dropped dramatically ealier in the week. But then again, a jump of almost 10% in one day is pretty amazing. I sold off a large chunk of my Apple stock. The price to earnings ratio of >40 are starting to scare me. Hopefully this mortgage crisis doesn't kill all markets. Maybe the media is overhyping it.
Stitch, you must have made a fortune on the Apple stock! If you wanted to buy Le and I new Macbooks, we certainly wouldn't object! I'll bet your family would be ok with that, too.
I would have to say, as they did on Saturday Night Live. Apple stock has been "berry berry gooood to me!". Not good enough to quit my job, but helping to pay for college for the kids is now a possibility. Or maybe I can just teach them myself giving the high cost of college these days. As for the Macbooks. I believe MF that you just recently got an iMac. Or has the newness of it faded already. I am still getting by with my Powerbook G4. And dare I say, a PC. I know, I feel cheap everytime I use it. I do at least try to use as little MS software as possible. Open Office and Thunderbird for email. But I still have to deal with the MS annoyances in the operating system. If only the Intel Macs came out sooner I would have bought one of them.
I heard that Apple admitted that we may see fewer programs developed for the Mac because of Boot Camp. But I still think Mac people want cool Mac apps .
You know, with Leopard my iMac really IS a new computer! After a few hic ups with Time Machine, it really is humming beautifully. It is great piece of mind knowing that Time machine is backing everything up. Not only that, I still have fully bootable backups to Tiger on the iMac, Tiger on the Powerbook, and even Panther on the Powerbook! The cool thing is that with the Panther backup, I can still run all the classic applications. I was screwing around on it the other day, and I saw Hypercard! Stitch, it made me feel nostalgic. Hypercard - so quaint an idea!
Hypercard! It was a precursor to idea of a browser. Using hyperlinks for one of the first programs. But Apple let it wither on the vine. Supercard tried to move it forward but the internet and HTML pretty much obsoletes the hyperlink of your own data concept.
