iPod Dominance

Stitch, you may have read the Macworld article by Christopher Breen about CES:

Consumer Electronics Show

He attended the CES and found that MP3 players were not much on display. A PR person said that they still sell Mp3 players, but really no one can compete with the iPod. He found almost no major competitors trying to display their MP3 players. When you think about it, and the more I read online, it seems future devices may be more geared toward accepting streams of music rather than downloaded tracks. I read another article which basically said the future will have music in the 'cloud' and all of us paying to have access to anything in the cloud. That may be true for many people, but I think I may be too old for living in a cloud!

A clarification: Although I did speak to a PR representative about the lack of MP3 players at CES, that person was *not* from Microsoft nor did that conversation take place at the Microsoft booth.

I stand corrected, Chris! By the way, I am an avid reader of yours, especially as relates to music! Thanks so much for all your research for those of us Mac fanatics to feast on! I never dreamed you might happen across our tiny blog!

Wow, I never thought the author of the article would pass by our blog. It is funny that you make no mention of MS in your post. Did MS contact Chris and tell him to make it clear that MS was not involved. Funny thing.

Actually, Stitch, I did screw up my initial post, so I edited it to be accurate. I was as surprised as you to see that Christopher Breen actually read the post! I read his articles all the time because they are so helpful and insightful.
