Resignation of Steve Jobs

Stitch, you've heard the news. I jhad a lengthy text exchange with my brother, and www agree that with Jobs staying on as Chairman of the Board, the vision of Jobs will not be completely lost. Additionally, the Corp group of executives is extremely talented, and we could say that togethr they also contribute to the overall Apple vision. Jobs has stated that Apple's vision is really encoded in the DNA of the company. I'm not as worried about the future success of Apple, but rather Job's health. That really says something when the man partly responsible for the birth of Apple cannot go on, when you know he desperately wants to!

I'm interested in your take on this changing of the reigns at Apple.

I was driving home from work when I heard the news on the radio. I know some people might say, its just another CEO stepping down. But this is different. This is more than just the current CEO who was running a company moving on. This is the company that is his life's work. Not just a way to make money, but having a passion to make something amazing and letting the profits follow, not the other way around. Jobs has made his permanent mark on the company. If he had left when Apple was a minor blip on the PC market then Apple would probably just shrivel up and go away or change entirely. But Jobs showed that if you focus on perfection and simplicity, and pure design then people will come back in droves. The company has now become the largest company in the world. So at this point Jobs leaving is making him into a sort of ultimate visionary that others will try to emulate due to his amazing success. He has been with Apple long enough that he has sewn a culture into the fabric of the company which strives for something more. I think Apple is primed for more greatness. Hopefully others in the company will step up and try to fill his shoes. I think it will take several people to fill Steve Jobs shoes but they have the talent. I am afraid that Jobs being on the board is only to soften the blow of him leaving. I suspect he must be terminally ill for him to completely resign as CEO. Thank you Steve for adding some amazing magic to this world. Sure it isn't solving world hunger but he is inspiring other companies to try to keep up with giving customers a product that is more amazing than they thought when buying that. He is a true entrepreneur.
