Get out your Mac condoms, trojan virus on the loose

Darn, I knew this would happen eventually, Apple gets hot and the demons start targeting us. Oh for days of ambiguity, windows, you can have 90+% market share and all the viruses that come with it. Heed the warning!

Mac Users beware there is a proof of concept trojan making its rounds on the Internet. First spotted on the MacRumors forum promising the latest pictures of OS 10.5, Leopard. The latestpics.tgz file acts as a Trojan and places code on your machine.

Some good chatter over at Ambrosia Software about this. http://www.ambrosiasw.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=102379

Ouch!! But you know, this may very well be expected with the resurgence of the Mac platform. Let us faithfully install our security updates without fail, and further let us think before installing, and utilize protection before

As you may know, there are a few more "vunerabilities" to worry about. Latest one seems to effect those using Safari that could install malicious code. From what I've read, caution should be taken when downloading a file using Safari or handling email attachments. Also to be considered is disabling the "open safe files after downloading" pref in Safari. Happy Surfing!
