The entry level Macbook is $1099. Is that too expensive? One thing I noticed is that it comes packed with great stuff. It also has core duos, and these things scream! I think maybe they should consider offering an entry-entry level Macbook, maybe the Macbook mini!! And it should be sub $1000, for the people who don't mind a crippled machine (an intel core solo).

Honestly, I have been looking at those a bit, as my Dell is getting more and more antiquated. But, I don't know - $1000 for the basic isn't bad, but I am having a hard time justifying the expense when my Dell still works fine. I guess what I do not like about my Dell is that for a laptop, it's fairly heavy, and it's not something I think about taking around with me very easily.

By the way, I saw that Dell now has a line of Core Duo laptops.

But is your Dell portable enough for your needs? The basic Macbook is not just basic - it's loaded for all needs except gaming. You must reach deep in your heart and ask yourself what really matters in life : Excellence in all aspects (Macbook) or mediocrity to the core (Dell).
