I have been checking the Amazon bestseller list for electronics, and although the black 30 Gb iPod is consistently the top MP3 player, SanDisk occupies the second and third slots! Right now the Zune is a non issue, but the SanDisk player is a serious competitor at the low end. I heard SanDisk is selling these things for huge discounts, and when you look at them, they really are cheap! It's a little disconcerting!

I must say, based on the specs, you get a lot for your money. It has a 2GB flash storage and is expandable. It also has an FM tuner which can record. And it shows pictures and small movies. All this for about $100. The only complaint that I saw in the reviews was that using Rhapsody instead of iTunes is a real bear. Maybe SanDisk is working on some better software. This sounds like real competition, not just hype like the Zune.
