WWDC Note
I've had some time to digest the WWDC announcements. I now feel that Jobs shouldn't have said there were "secret" features of Leopard before. I mean, it would have been better to just reveal the stuff he did at the previous conference, and he didn't have to mention that there were "secret" features of Leopard that he didn't want MS to copy! I think that I agree with the commentary that the Finder isn't "new" - he shouldn't have presented it like that! Only if it's new "under the hood" can it be truly considered a new Finder. I also don't think the "stacks" are a big enough deal to label as a "secret feature". Even "cover flow" is just eye candy, although I think I'll enjoy using it. Cover Flow certainly isn't indispensible. Now Cover Flow on the iPhone will be nice! What do you think?

I do not understand all the OS stuff to which you are referring, but in general, I think that it's not necessary to get your 'panties in a bunch' over the Jobs announcements. :-) I mean, there are going to be some conferences where the news is huge, and some where it's mild. Don't you think?

That is very true. On the other hand, if I didn't get my pants in a bunch, would I truly be a Mac Fanatic? Hmmmm?
Well there may still be some secret features yet to be publicly released. Jobs said that there were 300 updates yet he only demonstrated 10. I think the coolest new feature is the coverflow way to look at files. And the iTunes like display for the Finder with the auto search things like smart playlists. The Core Animation sounds like it would be the biggest thing for developers. It allows developers to put really cool graphic effects in their software with a few simple commands. This can only improve the overall usability of the apps. That is what an OS should do. Don't have every devoloper reinvent the wheel.
You know, that may very well be the biggest "feature" - that is, what developers can add to their apps. I've read thata developers are salivating at the chance to significantly upgrade the look and feel of their programs with core animation. Think of what Apple will end up doing with their apps! (It's already happening.)
