According to a recent article, HD-DVD supporters are paying Paramont 150 million to immediately drop support for Blue Ray DVD standard. Paramount was originally going to support both standards. Sound anti-competitive? Not good! What do you think?

I agree that this is anticompetitive. Why this is legal makes no sense at all to me. Trade dumping is illegal because it creates monopolies in a market by allowing the biggest competitors to starve out the competition instead of competing head to head on product value. This too should be illegal. It in no way allows the market to decide. The companies with the deepest pockets will decide for you. Free enterprise is based on the idea of "if you build a better mouse trap people will buy your product over any others", not "if you eliminate all other competition by buying them out then your mouse trap will be the only product people can buy".
Stitch, I could not have said it better myself. MS has built an empire partially on this concept. They do make some good products, but were they THAT much better than anything they were competing against?
