Apple winning PC wars?

This article lends support to Steve Job's idea that market share is not the only indication of success. Furthermore, Apple has valued profits over growth. (Which is hard for me to necessarily agree with because Apple has grown tremendously!) I don't think Apple is "winning the PC wars", but I do think Apple is as fierce a competitor as there ever was in the PC industry.

PC Wars

This PC war stuff is so last decade. Is there still a war going on? Apple is slowly inching ahead in market share but to say there is a war going on is ridiculous. Microsoft is still king of the hill. This may change some down the road but I think that Apple has found ways to coexist with MS, with Windows versions of software which show how well integrated and logical Apple software really is. And therefore giving Windows users a glimps into the world of the Mac. This seems to being making some inroads but there is no revolution going on. At least not yet.

Stitch, I'm currently at ASU campus quite a bit, and you see Macbooks and Macbook Pros all over the place! It's so great! I think this is a premonition of future popularity as these young people graduate and move into the workforce - they'll still want to work on the best computer out there!
