Why would a studio go exclusive with one format. The cost of having both would seem trivial. Is there an organization(s) which promote their format with cash incentives? That is what I smell. That way the format with the biggest bribes wins. Not necessarily the best quality. It is a shame if this is true.
I also heard two blue ray studios are stepping up their prmotion activities. This really is a war. And you're totally right - why not support both formats, and let the consumer choose the format they prefer?
