Gentlemen, check out the following Wired article:

I got chills reading it!

"It tooks Steve Jobs to show them that". Once again, Steve comes to the rescue of a industry still lost in the old ways of doing business. Jobs reinvents music industry. Jobs reinvents the cell phone industry. Go Steve.

Did you notice the statement that a developer kit will be available in February? It just gets even cooler.

I think the tidal wave will just gain in intensity when that happens. A guy at ASU already showed me a game on the iPhone that looked absolutely awesome, and it wasn't even legitimate! That will just open up the floodgates.

Although, Stitch, judging from the article it would be difficult to work in such a high pressure environment!

I think working in this high pressure environment would be fine if the company compensates you well for your efforts. You need a vested interest rather than helping the company to cash in on a great product. Maybe large bonuses linked to how well the product does in the marketplace would be nice. Plus a long vacation to recover after the intense effort. It takes a superhuman dedication to make great things a reality. I hope these fine engineers and designers were rewarded for such a fine product.

I totally agree. And I think these engineers do get compensated nicely. I especially agree with you that they need serious time off from that kind of effort to re-energize.
