Just in - Best Buy to carry iPhone 3G!

Is this a good idea? I don't know, but I do know that Best Buy has lots of traffic. An interesting consequence is that Best Buy will need to have representatives on hand to activate the iPhone, as you can't do it online anymore. Supposedly Apple needs more retailers at which to sell the iPhone because of the long lines at their stores! Robin told me that even a week after the iPhone went on sale, there were still lines at the Chicago store. (Yes, she went to Chicago this summer, and I didn't. Pooey!)

I think having Best Buy and even Target are good ideas. I know Target sells iPods but not iPhones just yet. I think the iPhone sells itself. So Best Buy can handle ringing up the sale alright. Even if some of their sales people grumble under their breath, "Apple will be bankrupt in a couple of months!"

I tell you, Stitch, those days of Apple being the annoying kid who just won't go away are over! I still remember at Frys a few years ago when the salespeople would poo poo the Mac. I didn't appreciate that!

It's kind of a shame that Comp USA is gone, Stitch. I still remember it as one place you could go to see the latest Mac stuff. Naturally the new Apple stores are so much better, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Comp USA.
