Consider the article:
Backstabber?
Jon Rubinstein of Apple fame reportedly had a big hand in the Palm Pre design. Jon was an Apple executive early in the decade, and he oversaw the hardware division. I cannot help but be hurt, Stitch, that Jon was ok with going to Palm to compete directly against Apple. I know it happens all the time, but it hurts nonetheless. Do you feel the same way?

I wouldn't say it hurts. If he doesn't infringe on any copyrights then all's fair in business. One person does not a company make. Jon may be good, and he may do good things for Palm in the long run. But Apple has been built up over a period of many years. They have aquired many good people and have a good foundation. The Pre is a better product than the Window's based phones but I still think it has a long way to go to match the iPhone. A change in the touch screen technology is only a start.
Christina has a Windows based cell phone. Whenever she deletes a picture it plays a short tune. Oh how cute. Until you need to delete a whole series of pictures. You can't mark a set of pictures and delete them all at once. You need to delete each one individually. So the tune plays for each deletion. Even to the point where it plays the same tune on top of each other out of phase to sound like jibberish. Oh Microsoft, the wonderful products you bring to market. She even has to reboot her phone sometimes because it locks up. This is a cell phone!!
Stitch, I appreciate your pragmatism. I do feel better because you are right - Apple has spent lots of time and brain resources to get it right. Competition is good, of course, and I can't help but think Apple has some big things up its sleeve in ADDITION to the iPhone.
Regarding Christina's Windows based phone, I think we know how that goes. I bought Robin a new iPod Touch for her birthday. We have always been in sync, but this brings a whole new meaning to the word! This weekend we're off to the Apple Store for peripheral goodies! Then to BJ's for brewskies as celebration to the peripheral purchases.
Sounds like you don't need a big reason to celebrate at BJ's with brewskis!
Stitch, we only drink these beers for medicinal purposes!
