Palm Pre set to launch

Check out the article:

Palm Pre

I don't know, Stitch. The pricing is pretty steep, and I think that's the disadvantage of being a late comer (to the tune of 2 years late). You may have a nice phone, but out of necessity you have to price the entry level product in this case at $200 after a mail in rebate. The iPhone has been in the market for 2 years with a possible refresh right around the corner.

What do you think, Stitch? Have you heard much?

p.s. Apologies for my absence lately - I had a rough semester, and I needed to finish it off!!

I don't know too much about the Pre. It is hyped up as an iPhone killer just like there were so many so called iPod killers. Yet none of them actually killed the iPod. It seems from the article that the Pre is almost a version 1 iPhone, with a cool and expensive charger option. I say v1 iPhone because it uses web based apps only which was one of the biggest complaint about the first iPhone. Now that the iPhone has blow you out of the water native apps how does the Pre compete at the same price point? Almost as good never sells anything. Unless you love the Sprint network and don't want to switch, this phone is a ho hum entry. Plus I remember that Sprint is financially the weakest carrier out there right now. I bet this is their last hurrah before they get bought by another carrier.
