Stitch, I'm dying to find out what you think of the new Apple TV. The price point is outstanding at $99, and by all accounts, streaming is the wave of the future. I'm not as familiar with current pricing as compared to the new Apple TV service pricing. Does it have the makings of a hit? I am seriously considering buying this iteration.

This version of the Apple TV is not as big of a breakthrough as I would have hoped for. The price is great. It made sense to take out the hard drive and make it use the "cloud" for data. It sounds like this new one is based on using iPhone/iPad chips and technology, so it has enormous potential, such as adding in the App store down the road. The 99 cent per show is better but most TV networks did not like this pricing and are waiting to see what happens. I think with the limited networks of Disney/ABC/Fox is not enough for this to go mass market. I say put the commercials back into the shows and give them away for free. With this type of delivery system, commercials could be tailored to each viewers wants, which is the latest trend in marketing. Companies will pay more for this targeted marketing more than the old shotgun approach.
It is crucial now for Apple to get this right since GoogleTV is about to be released and could possibly dominate the market. But I am still not sure what GoogleTV really is at this point. It might fall flat like the online "Office" tools that they thought was going to be big.
