125,000 movies in a week purchased from the iTunes store- is this significant? It sounds like a good chunk of change when they charge betweem $10 and $15 per movie. I don't feel I have a good handle on how important this number is, though. Any thoughts?

Lo,
I feel it's too early to tell. At the moment, there is the novelty of downloading movies. The next year to year and a half I would think will give us a better indication.

That comes out to about $1.5 million in revenue in a week. Or equivalent to 1.5 million 99 cent songs. I would say that is significant. Of course like Lo says, there is the novelty factor. I think the real test will be when iTV is released and allows for simple playback on your TV. This should stir demand.
