Gerntlemen, there is a columnist who I highly respect who has a fascinating take on the Zune player. He is extremely intelligent (in my opinion) and has great insight into things Apple. He has a different take on the Zune player than we have, and It's a great read. Here it is:

Gents,
Interesting article. While I feel he makes some good points, and certainly presents some considerations that most definitely need to be taken into account at Apple, I would say that the pernicious nature of the MS strategy is probably overstated a little bit.

I got that feeling a little bit as well. I don't know if Microsoft would think that way. I would guess his reply would be that it's built into the Microsoft "DNA" and they don't consciously think about that strategy.
I noted also that he based part of his argument on getting the Zune in the hands of corporate executives. I don't know if an MP3 music player will ever be as integrated into corporate life as the PC and PC network. That is, it will be harder to make business executive extremely dependent on an MP3 player which may interface with an X Box.
