New RAZR...

It was recently anounced that a new RAZR with iTunes capability was coming out soon this year. As you both know, I have been going through life "sans cell phone". Is this the phone I have been waiting for? Note that there is still a 100 song limit, but what I would like to know is, does it matter? Would one feel deprived without more songs? And lastly, is the much ballyhooed "iPhone" nothing more than "vapor hardware"? I could use the input, as I drool over Le's phone too much these days!

Lo,

You have been on the fence about a cell phone for a while now. As for the 100 song limit. That is about the limit of my 512MB shuffle. From my experience, this is enough variety for a few hours of listening. Then you feel like there is repetition. But if at the start of your day you load your phone with songs this should not be an issue. I don't think it is intended to replace your iPod. If you listen for hours on your phone it will drain your phone battery very quickly. I don't think they use the high end long lasting battery which is in an iPod.

Lo,

For your situation, I would honestly hold out for the information on the 'real' iPod phone, which I am sure will be excellent. If you wish to have something in the interim, you can get a one year only contract and get a RAZR at a very good price, though not as good as the two year contract price. The only thing is I do not know what they intend to do with this RAZR iTunes phone - if it will be priced at approximately the same as the current RAZR, or if they will charge a big premium for it.
